The Rocket
Putney Wharf Tower Brewhouse Lane Putney London SW15 2JQEasily located, on the bank of the River Thames – perfect if the sun is beaming; sitting on the well presented patio furniture whilst watching the world go by.
I was welcomed by attentive staff, red velvet furniture and old school dangling lamps from the ceiling not to mention a big gold, matured mirror on the wall – reinforcing the homely feeling I received.
The pretentiousness of
London flashed before me when paying
for my Kopparberg at £3.80. With what looked like
typical tasty ‘pub grub’ on the menu, promotions on
their beer, with a ‘Young’s Special’ at £2.29 and free refills on the large filtered coffee – no wonder it was relatively busy for a Thursday evening.
The ambiance was predominantly filled with well dressed, middle management enjoying a social sip. Without music playing it was made easy for me to eavesdrop and when one of our senior citizens, ‘Michael’ entered (or local celebrity it would appear) - without saying a word, the barmaid poured his regular pint of Fosters before exchanging banter. The friendliness and service was grand and you’ll now be sure to catch me there…cheers!
